I bought a domain from this guy who said it was a Page rank 6. I checked and there were many backlinks and i check the pagerank on many sites and it showed 6. Then some guy emailed me stating that this guy might be redirecting traffic to an existing PR 6 website and it gives a fake reading.

Now I have no way to tell if I was scammed or if the site is really a PR 6. The site, by the way is affiliatelookup.com Does anyone know a way to definitely tell if this is a real PR 6 or if its less? MAybe a way of checking the traffic now that I own it or just something....???Please help...

pagerank on that is zero according to what I can see, but all the linked sites to it are pr 5 and up

have you looked at the backlinks? Mainly foreign language forums, probably link drops

the site doesn't exist in MSN has only a home page in Yahoo and Google. Yes you can "trick" the page rank by using a 301 from an existing site, and of course toolbar page rank means absolutely nothing.
