I have two sites.

Mario Kart Central is doing great. We are #1 for the search "mario kart"

But xtremeArt.net isn't doing good anymore. It was in the top 10 for "art sketches" but now it's nowhere to be found.

We used Google AdWords for a while and actually didn't pay the last small bill for xtremeArt.net. Could this have messed up the good ranking for the site?

If the ranking just went down then I wouldn't worry too much. Google seems to be acting very strangely at the moment! (see the www, www2 thread)

No.. it actually went down a couple of months ago. I emailed Google, maybe they'll get back with me.

There was a change to the index around then (I think it was about 2 months ago anyway). Most people went down at that time (I had 2 PR6s go down to PR5s). I think they changed the ranking algorithm to make it harder to get a high pagerank. Maybe thats what caused your site to fall???

yes, google is trying a new ranking algorithm, we have to wait and see the rules..........

I emailed Google and asked them what happened, and a week later the site is ranked higher than ever before. Coincidence, maybe.
