After reading the Google PageRank question I have a few questions about the effects of it.

1.) Let's say I am running a web hosting business and I'm competiting with about 80,000,000 other sites for position on the search term "web hosting" If I use the pagerank hack for a page on my website such as pagerank.html and on that page (after it get's a PR of 10) I put a single link to my homepage, will that dramatically raise the PR on my homepage, and raise my rank in search results? Will my homepage be indexed often because of this change?


2.) Will the new page that has a PR of 10 get indexed by Google often compared to other sites? Any idea of just how often it will get indexed?


3.) Will this hack work with Yahoo? I am using SiteMatch so my site gets indexed every 48 hours, but I guess that is totally different then their ranking system?


4.) This PR Hack seems too good to be true, especially for website that have very high competition on Google. Is this a newly discovered secret, or is this hack been around for while? Anyone care to guess how many sites are using this hack?


5.) I've seen people selling text link on sites with a PR of 8 for $2,000 per month per text link, I can only image what people will do with this hack and what kind of money they could make if they pulled this off right? Wouldn't it be considered illegal?

You really should not even consider competing with a black hat technique. If your competition finds out (and they will), they will have you banned manually from the SERPs.

As for the answers:
1.) As it is a permanent redirect, I doubt G will pick up on any links on that page. I do not think your page will get indexed often either, as G realizes that the significant page is not the page with the redirect code on it, but rather the page this redirect points to.

2.) Nope. It'll get indexed as often as any other page.

3. ) No idea.

4.) It has been around for a while and only shady link brokers use it to boost their text link sales income. Otherwise this method is pretty useless.

5.) Of course it would be considered illegal.

Very much doubtful but greater chance of no. Instead it will crawl the site as you have mentioned in the destination like google/yahoo

The site that uses this has very little to gain in SERP's but they do because they like to do such things

You can gain some $$ with such thing if the buyer has no idea about this though I would say its unethical.
