I have tried to pinpoint what google does, and lately I've noticed when they kncok my site back a page or two, they then jump it ahead to another page. For example, I started on page 5, then was kicked back to page 7, then jumped ahead to page 4. Now last week Friday, I was on page 3 3 sites from the top. Now around saturday I was knocked back to page 4 at the bottom. But now my site is 3 sites away from the top of page 4. The prob is while I'm expecting a jump if google follows the usual pattern, my site hasn't been spidered lately, and the cache is showing the last time it was spidered was last week Tuesday. So my question is, have the spiders timed out, therefore I would have to resubmit my site, or is this just a case of google updating and not having time to get to all the sites yet?

No thats normal fluctuation.

You need more links to your site if you want to be spidered more often.

You need more links to your website. The more links to point to your website, the more often the google spider would crawl it. Re-submitting to google won't help.
