Going from a PR6 to a PR7

Hi all,

Interested in the views of the more experienced webmasters or anyone who can help.

Im trying to take a site from PR6 to PR7

Im building rich content pages to it by the day, More indexed pages the spider likes etc.etc. The site is 100% on topic with relevent data well presented. Its taken me a couple of years to go from PR5 to PR6! I have about 3500 back links so far but Google just shows 1100.

Is going from a PR6 to a PR7 just about back links? I ask this because i notice that a good number of PR8 sites are often newspaper groups and the like where they have zillions of content pages linking in which obviously improves both back links and content linking.

Any thoughts anyone on this? i notice a few here have PR7 & 8 sites so i would welcome anyones views on this

I would just keep up what you are doing and the PR will come. There is certainly no quick fix. Besides, PR without page optimization for the SERP's is useless. I would focus more on optimization.
