My horror movie website is on page 2 in AOLs search engine, and it's on page 3 in googles search engine, and climbing. Yet I don't see any traffic to my forum at all. So what exactly am I doing wrong?

Horror movies is the keyword that has my site where it's at now.

Not only that, I don't think very many people actually surf past page 1 of search results unless they are very determined to find something specific. Unfortunatly "Horror Movies" is not very specific so I think people are likely to just click within the first three results.

This is definately a case of missing the appropriate key terms. "horror movies" is awefully generic and doesn't qualify your content at all. If you can't research the terms to optimize for, then you have to experiment. Perhaps "best horror movie", "channel horror" or "horror movie review"...

Also, I'd get rid of that severed head which follows ur mouse pointer. I found it so annoying that I wouldn't even give your site a chance. The animated gifs next to your header links are also mondo GAH! Try something a little more conventional to make your site more usable.

I have plenty of keywords other than just horror movies. It's just that since I'm on page 3 in google for the keyword horror movies, I figure that keyword has me where I'm at now.

I see the same thing. Most people don't go past 2 or 3 listings at most.

ya what they said i never look at page 2 unless im bored or checking search results related to one of my sites

but i see your using angelfire the site is decent looking for something hosted on angelfire couldn't find a link to the forum but its probably a proboard which most of the time people hate proboards are lame if you want to make a good horror movie related website get some hosting you can find some decent cheap hosting to get your started work on the layout a little bit if you suck at graphics find someone who is good with them and ask for help load your site with content so people will come to you instead of going somewhere else

by the way the thing on the cursor is annoying gets in the way
