I just noticed that the Virginia server toggled us and Hoover Web Design, we did indeed move into 2nd place on one engine for a second, but a refresh a few seconds later changed the positions back - most odd, but we've seen it before, both in our results, and those of our customers.
As for your little dig about comment "spamming", there are two lines of comments. You can call anything you want SPAM (and probably would if you aren't achieving results as good on your own merits) - we have good position based primarily on the popularity of our site, and the fact that our name contains the word "web" helps enormously for any search involving the word web - perhaps that little gem escaped your notice.
I'm not going to lower myself to taking this discussion into the depths of my code is better than yours, or whether proper or improper use of ALT tags is in play on our site, whether your site has too few keywords or is simply an eye candy site rapidly going nowhere, but suffice it to say, our site does well in the engines - you go get your own results.
I will help you a tad, by suggesting that you look to external factors as much as you do internal ones in your search for a clue on anything search engine position related - you should examine the age of our site against yours - we have considerably more links to our site than you:
links to www.netboom.co.uk = 0
links to www.webyourbusiness.com = 408
This number of links results in a google page rank of 6 for even the most mediocre of sites linking to us. You, on the other hand, derive NO pagerank, as you have NO-ONE linking to you.
It seems a little like sour grapes to me, but I'm sure you have your own reasons for appearing like you're sniping at my signature and our web site .... the vast majority of our search popularity comes from link popularity, not the site itself. You should concentrate on building your own site, rather than trying to knock down those who appear to be much more successful at search engine positioning than you are. Your energies would be better employed if you turned them to the positive, I'm sure you're a real charm to be around - you appear to ooze negativity!
regards
