A lot of websites have been victims of the Google Penguine update. "SEO is obviously not DEAD". Now, how can we do seo the "right way" after penguine update?

1: there is no 'e' at the end of 'Penguin'

2: You do SEO and Marketing in EXACTLY THE SAME way as you SHOULD have been BEFORE. That way you wouldn't have a problem.

Funny how many of us didn't have to change a thing before and after penguin and panda. Guess doing things the right way all these years was good for something.

Now people are trying to trick Penguin and then when Google comes up with P*, we will see threads like how to SEO after P* but the answer to all those question lies in the second post.

Well put Sir, can't help feeling a bit smug. Seriously though, I'm glad it seems quality content has come out on top. Content is the only thing I'm even remotely good at.

I hear you. Google still has more work to do and no matter what system they have in place some people will find and abuse holes, but it's good to see they're trying to create a system where quality does come out on top.

Google promotes quality links these days and if you'll not be careful in your links, you will lose your ranks and traffic.

Same here. Traffic bounces up and down a little with each algorithm update, but the net result once things settle has been an increase each time. I think my search traffic is up about 25% since all the updates started.

I received Google Penguin Update too back in November and the first thing I started to do was checking all my backlinks (and it was a really tedious and boring process), contacting webmasters and asking them for removal if their website looked really suspicious to me. Now I am on a new wave - link directories all gone and I spend more time commenting on the blog and writing more and more new and unique content.

Whatever you thought you knew about Google penguin, think again! There is another 'major' penguin update coming in 2013, " Matt Cutts said his team is currently working on it and this will be a big change to how Penguin works."

Build quality links over quantity, write compelling and interesting content, don't use 100% anchor text in your links and use white hat techniques only.
