I was thinking of making my own SERP check tool. Would I be able to still use adwords on the site or would google frown upon a site like this?

Why would they frown upon it? I would suggest reading their TOS.

It is not a simple work to make a right serp checker tool. I used many sites to check my search engine ranking but they do not tell the right information.

Of course they give the "right" information, just because it may be different to what you see when running a search is EXACTLY what makes "rank checking so USELESS!!!!

We have the site running. Feel free to check it out and let us know what you think so far. The link to the site is in our signature.

Just enter the domain and the keywords and click the refresh SERP buttons and it will do the rest. It will also tell you if your keyword is in the title and description of each site.

We have more work to do, but it does work. Your inputs are saved automatically, so you can add your domain, competing domains and 20 keywords and easily check them daily. You can also select between 60 Google regions if you are targeting a specific country. We also track the current, previous and best SERP results for each of your keywords. We will eventual track and graph movement over the last 30 days.

Did we mention it is free? Please let us know what you think.

In my own perception, if there's anything that bothers you in Google's TOS, you can always send them an inquiry or feedback.

If your tool is to be believed my page ranks 1 in Google India. The Domain in not even 30 days old. The article has been published there for just, 10 days back. The visitors have not been more than 100 yet.

How can it rank 1, so easily ? i still can't believe.

Please search " build business using freelancers " and let me know...

Thanks

Link dropping removed

It has been the case since 1993 that newly discovered URLs "rank highly" in the SERPs for a few days (a week tops) when they are first shown to search engine users.

They then drop back into oblivion until they have "earned" their placing

I don't think it should be "earned" it should be "given". I assume that why you put "earned" in quotes though.

Yep, Google will freely give it a position in the query results for the words it contains initially, but after that the url has to earn/build/gain genuine reputation/popularity/authority, call it whatever you like.

It's a bit like starting out as the postboy in a big organisation, everybody in the building knows you and you are allowed to see what it's like on the top floor, but if you want to be there permanently you have to prove you are worth it.

Actually, I like the analogy of a new employee being introduced around to all the other departments and employees. You get that initial 'how do you do' and if something clicks, you may get invited to lunch, aka visit your site. If they liked what they saw you might get invited again or visited again. If they really liked the experience they may tell their friends which will boost you in the rankings.

Anyway, as far as my original question, no issues with google and our serp checking tool.

As far as accurate results, we've made a lot of updates over the last few months and we've compared to other tools and manual checks of google results and think we got it right. For those with keywords boucing around, we now graph the last 30 days so you can see how you are trending.
