Why google is not indexing all Urls in my sitemap ?

My website's sitemap contain around 1600 Urls but Google Webmaster Tool is showing that only 2 pages are indexed from them.

Can anyone tell me why is that ? Is there any way to make google crawl all my Urls ?

Get links and a having good navigation structure is more use than a "sitemap"

Try to create a html sitemap. Will be useless for users with that many pages, but google will eventuall index them...

is there any free tool to create html sitemap or do I have to create it manually ?

You should create it manually, You can create is batter. And it also not carry any error if you create it manually.

I think you might neither validate your site with Google nor include your sitemap file in your robots.txt file.

I have included my sitemap's URL in my robots.txt file. How can I validate my site with google ?

As you are using Google Webmaster Tools, so you have most probably, already verified your website in webmaster tools.

How old is your site?

I think you have submitted your sitemap just recently?

Anyway, only submitting sitemaps will not help get more pages of your site to index. The internal link structure and the some solid backlinks can help in this regard. You can try to get some links for the internal pages too. That will help a lot.

well my website is around 6-7 months old and i submitted my sitemap when i created my website, i m using wordpress and xml sitemap creator plugin for sitemap which includes every new url in sitemap and submit it to google webmaster tool automatically.

Forget the idea that an "sitemap" is going to get your site crawled and indexed IT ISN'T!!!!!

A sitemap can help get "hidden" or poorly linked pages be "discovered" but it your site has poor linkage, no amount of "submitting" a sitemap will help.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT not mess about with sitemaps!!!!!!

Low quality inbound links, site navigation that is problematic for bots.

Forum sig links may get the site crawled but the don't give any "weight" to the site. Same as directories, blog comment spam, junk "article" directories and all the other useless things that "experts" think are "useful"

First check for your sitemap, is that error-free and also check for broken links
and again submit your XML sitemap to google.

Also submit your site to high traffic top bookmarkings.

Try using this online sitemap generator: http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ Maximum 500 pages will be indexed in sitemap.

There are many site map generator are available on the web. Why you are not trying for them. Instead of it make good linking of your site pages which may help you more.

Give them individual backlinks, use Article submission or social networking sites to promote them.

submit your sitemap to google, make is its valid. get quality backlinks that google wil trust.

I am sure your site has no blacklist issues since the site: command of your site lists considerable amount of pages. As already said, try to get high quality links and check your internal navigation structure, so that crawlers freely crawl your pages.

Hi Rizwan,

Here are some of the tips that you may try out.

1. Create a list of sitemap in your main site map like sitemap.xml contain sitemap1.xml , sitemap2.xml and so on.

2. Limit the number of url's to 100 or less per sitemap. In that case you have 16 sitemap. Which is being referenced from the main sitemap.

Try to get some good quality links.
