go back and replace "it" with their keyword, but only in a few places.

But they keep asking me how much keyword stuffing can they do?

Keyword stuffing is useless. Search engines aren't stupid anymore.
Their algorithms can detect that crap and drop your ranking quickly.
Tell your clients they are wasting their time.

I know natural flowing content is what search engines and user both like but still i guess 3% to 4% keyword density should be aimed while writing web content.

Stuffing keywords in page's content is not the right idea. Try to build proper content with the use of targeted keywords which look natural and helps in getting rankings through it. You can use keywords in Meta Tags.

I will agree to what "Moxxnixx".

KW stuffing no more help. SE algo has matured a lot.

Your clients should prefer to have content for their users and not for SE bots

They should write useful content for their visitors and KWs should come in content naturally.

It's a bit like stuffing your christmas turkey - if you stuff it too much you end up with all stuffing and no meat

I totally agree with what everyone has said. Stuffing an article with too much keywords won't help you get good ranking. In fact, you can get penalized for that. Write an article naturally. Forget about keyword density. It's a myth.

Keyword stuffing is known as the repetition of keywords. Repetition of keywords should be 3-4 times but it should be in natural way.

I think as of Google's algorithm now, they are capable of rating a page meant to stuff keywords or not. They might be able to rate if the pages with too many said keyword but if it is natural or not, good example is a thread for a certain topic that the keyword/topic might mentioned too many times.

adding keyword many time in the site page to increase the density called stuffing.. no need to fill the keyword many time in the site.. better add in the top area , title , headings etc.. now need to repeat many time in the content

I guess it's pretty useless to refer to this in terms of fixed number of occurrences or percentage values - as long as a text is naturally built and readable, I wouldn't care about anything other much.

I think, 4% is not enough to do this Keyword Stuffing. Better not to do it. You will be penalized by the Search Engines.

just make sure your keyterm is mentioned once - the bot wll find it and mentioning it another ten times is not going to raise its relevance!

Keyword stuffing is basically the word itself, putting the same keyword over and over to the point that it doesn't make sense anymore, as for the content is concern. There are that uses a technique where the stuff keyword is not visible to the viewer but visible for the bots. As far as I know if bots find around 20 same keyword on a single page, that sets the alarm to be recognize as a spammer, although I'm not really sure if that's correct.

I think keyword stuffing is useless, it is enough to have your keyword in the title and the heading.. it is not necessary to repeat it over and over in the content...
