Hi People,

I'm new here and I’m kind of confused. I have an ecommerce website, say .Example.co.uk (targeting for UK visitors) and it has PR 6 at the moment.
I really wondere why I am not getting any good search ranking for my site. My site has a good number of quality back links and my competitor site has lesser back links, but still they are getting good search ranking and why not me, they also have a PR 6.
I've been thinking is it related to something difference with SEO for international website? Is there anything that I can do to target UK customers?
OR my product page has more no. of back links than my home page. Is this an issue.
Will it make any difference?
I mean though I have PR 6 and good quality backlines I don't know really

What are the main keywords for that web site are and which positions do you hold in the SERP?

One reason for not ranking in top ten might be:

You might have chosen a very competitive keyword. Keywords being search most of the time in search engines are most competitive, that makes it very difficult to get top ten ranking in SERP.

HI Ben,

It would help very much if you can give URL of the site and the keywords you are searching for. Just doubtful if you are searching for words that are not relevant to your site and if there is really a PR6 for the site in question.

URL required to analyze your site and suggest a reply. But I wonder how can a site have PR 6 with little or no traffic.
Atleast say how old is your website?

I would rather go with a site that has no PR but with terrific traffic than the one with high PR (PR 6) and no traffic, since traffic is money. While PR depends on the number of backlinks, ranking in SERP and in turn getting the organic traffic depends on SEO.

Hi, I agree that we would need to know what keywords you're targeting. Because often through organic traffic people find your site with long key words. Keywords that you didn't mean to have, but people find your site by.

It does seem strange that a PR6 wouldn't bring too much traffic. I am a PR1, and I have a small stream of about 15 visitors a day. I know not much to brag about, but still traffic.

I've seen that post around on a few forums and think its probably a stooge!

PR6 is a good ranking and for getting it is very dificcult... So if no traffic means there will be some problem with PR.. if share the URL then can check it well and give some siuggestions

Rubbish. This merely illustrates what the more experienced members of this forum keep saying - PR has nothing to do with traffic. PR doesn't necessarily mean you'll rank highly either.

The connection between pagerank (oh, toolbar by the way) and traffic is so hard to trace that I'm inclined to think it's close to non-existent. You are not getting traffic because 1) the site can't be found in SEs, 2) you are not reaching the audience that might direct targeted traffic.

First you should tell us that what are your targeted keywords...

for Ecommerce website it is always advice able to use long tail keywords...

so you should choose your keywords properly..

second you should try to submit your website in the regional classified site and regional directory sites too..

Third you should try your hand on the smo part too
