I have researched and my site isn't banned by Google, it comes up in searches and I have other sub pages that have actual page rankings but my index page shows a blank, grey bar and says "No Page Rank Available". The site has been up for 6 months and should have some page rank info even if it's zero.

I'm banging my head against the wall ova hee'ah. I don't understand how some of my pages are ranked but my main index isn't. I have some great quality sites linking to my index with optimized anchors (PR6 and PR7 sites) but my page still doesn't show ranking in the Google bar.

I know this is just 1/100th of the factors that Google actually uses to index and rank your site and people say that the PR ranking is pretty much nothing but my problem is outside the realm of SEO. I know how to optimize a site and how to get pages on top of search engines. My problem is the lack of credibility that potential customers might feel regarding my site.

If I didn't know or care about SEO and I visited someone's site then I would assume that PR was a measure of credibility and not some ranking Google assigns based on links, etc. So if one of my competitors has a PR3 and I have no page information available they are going to go buy from the PR3 site instead of mine because they'll think that they're more legit. Does that make sense?

The page is www.colorprintusa.com and you'll see how there's no page rank available. But when you do a Google search it shows up and also shows other pages that are indexed. I just can't figure it out.

Anyone have any insight or experience this issue before?

Nope!
The toolbar PR is 0/100th factors.

I understand that but my thread indicates that I don't care about the SEO factor but more the credibility factor that the average everyday user sees when they visit my site. Having no PR to them means you're a scammer or that your company isn't worth doing business with.

I could care less because I know that my site has quality content and is indexed by Google therefore people will find the site. However, my problem is that when people do find the site and see that Google doesn't have any PR for it then they'll find another company to do business with.

I have hundreds of websites live and active but this one is the only one that doesn't have any PR what-so-ever. Even domains I own and host that have nothing on them have some sort of PR and not a greyed out bar.

Hi there

The everyday visitor to your site doesnt care about pr, 99% of them probably dont even know what it is, I accept its annoying, i have had the same problem my pr was 0 on one of my sites for a long time 9 motths at least, and no one could figure out why, as i had 1000s of links, it eventually came back all on its own.

The only people who cared about pr were other webmasters that didnt know anything about pr anyway, so in the long run it did me a favor and helped my figure out which partner sites that linked to me knew what they were talking about anyway, if people are judging you on ur pr they clearly dont !

So if your not banned and you have links it will come in time.

Why is it that everybody seems to believe that every Internet user watches that pointless green bar and uses it as some magical measure of credibility???

The majority of JQ Public are not even slightly interested, and as I don't have the green bar enabled on my toolbar, you can count me among the disinterested.

Rob the average user may have heard of PR, but it's doubtful they know hoe to check for it. I really wouldn't worry about it hurting your reputation with customers.

It is weird that your PR isn't showing though. Have you changed domains or URLs recently? Ever sell links on the site?

I just did a quick search at Yahoo for your incoming links and I think I see the problem. You really don't have any links pointing into the site. Yahoo shows 12, all to the home page, many of which look like they come from the blogroll of a single blog.

I think the reason the toolbar isn't showing any PR for your site is that the toolbar PR of your pages is less than 0.5, which would round down to 0.
