I am just wondering how long it takes for web site to be indexed by google search engine after submission? Is any way to speed up web site submission to google?
I've had a new site get crawled 10 minutes after it was FTPed up.
But then of course, I didn't do anything as useless as "submitting" it.

there is no way of knowing exactly how long it will take. I can happen instantly or it can take a couple weeks. Submit an XML sitemap to google and webmaster tools will tell you when they index each of your individual pages
If you submit to google it could take between 6-8 weeks to speed up the process you need to get high ranked sites linking to you so you can get indexed faster. Such as < self promo link removed >
Well.....Submitting to google isn't help in quick indexing.......but getting fewer links from high traffic sites help to gt index earlier also submit XML sitemap to google and then go to social bookmarking sites having heavy amount of daily traffic to submit your webpages......also if your ste is older and you frquently add fresh content to your site then it will take a only a coulple of days to index your ew pages....and in cases of blogs their new posts sometime get index within minutes or hours....

I think one shouldn't submit to Google more often. You should allow google to find your site automatically. submit your site to those sites where google bots crawls more often. Then it will be indexed in less than week or maybe within 2-3 days.
No-one submits their sites to Google anymore. It just does not work
What you need to do is focus on building links to your site from sites that google crawls often
Also you could build a blog, they get indexed within a few days and then put a link in your blog to your website
I really do not think the submit URL function is for business minded webmasters
Subitting to google had never worked with me....Google crawls ours whenever it likes to do that. But I believe placing a link on a website with good PR can make a quick crawl.
Start to submit the articles,do directory submission, link exchange if possible then take links from home page because home page is cached rapidly in comparison of internal pages,if home page is cached then your link which will placed on home page is also cached.May be it would help in caching your site.
