Hi,

I have 1277 backlinks to my website.(source is google webmaster tools)

1175 out of them to my home page.

Out of the above links I have the following to my home page:

1 PR 6 backlink
2 PR 5 backlink
5 PR 4 backlinks
16 PR 3 backlinks
10 PR 2 backlinks
5 PR 1 backlinks

Will these number of backlinks help increase my PR. Are they good enough???

Current PR is 1

OK those are the PR pages where you are linked, but the number seems to be very less and also you have to know the current quality of the pages, and also how many outbound links are present in those pages.

You might be listed in a PR6 page, but who knows that page might be having hundreds of outbounds giving no link value to your website.
so just counting the number of PR pages linking you is not enough.

not only do you have to look at how many links are on those pages but you also have to consider the type of content and links on those pages. They may be a page rank of 6 but if it is in no way related to your content then google is not going to consider the backlinks that important for your page.

Agreed. A link is a link, regardless of the content of the page.

Having said that, you should get a PR boost on some level. Google doesn't update the TOOLBAR pagerank too often, so watch your rankings and traffic levels for the true effect of those links.

It's impossible to say if this will increase your PR or not. Google looks at many factors, not just the PR of the site with the incoming link.

I'd say it will definitely help, isn't the main thing google looks at for PR is number of links you have and the higher the PR the better?

Yeah, good enough for what? All you asked is "is it good enough?"

The more links that build naturally, the better. Who cares about the PageRank of your inbound links? PageRank is not an important metric. It's just a number.

some pr of your site's other pages will contribute to your homepage's pr... if you will try to improve it more...

No one can be sure about anything..
How can you be so sure that it is enough for getting a PR4?

Exactly. You can have 1 billion inbound links but if they're poor quality, don't expect a PR4. I have over 300,000 inbound links on one of my PR5 sites -- you can't use the number of inbound links as a determinant for PageRank.

I don't think so.. Ived handled site before that has a huge backlinks which is capable to get a PR 4 as they say but I only got PR 3..
It still depends weather you link to related sites or not..
