Hey, I've been running a fan site for a lesser known musical artist for the past 7 weeks, still no listing on Google despite numerous submissions, META tags and plenty of hits. I see that links I have posted to my site on related websites have been listed on Google, but not the website itself! It is a free freeservers site.

Can anyone advise me on this?

think you have to submit your site to http://dmoz.org in order to show up in googles directory

Can you post the URL for us to see?

Make sure that the content on your pages is relevant to the keyphrases for those particular pages. Then get inbound links from directories and other sites using those keyphrases pointing to those pages. It does take a while because it looks like Google doesn't show updates to all the inbound links until they do their dance.

I think I submitted to dmoz 6 weeks ago... then again I made another site 2 weeks ago, didn't bother submitting it and it just appeared on Google.

But I tried submitting again...
