I have a question regarding Google's Page Rank. I just need some clarifications...

Say a site (Site A) with a rank of 7 links to my site (My Site), which currently has a rank of 5. However, the actual page that the link is posted on is not ranked. Does Google count the Homepage ranking of the site, or the actual page?

Basically I'm wondering if this link is not counted as anything since the actual page is not ranked by Google?

You only get the page rank for the webpage that links to you, if the home page has a PR7 and the ppage that links to you has a PR0 then you will get next to nothing.

Lot of website do this to trick people into swapping links with them, however it could also be that the PR hasn't filtered through the site yet.

Okay, thanks...thats what I figured.

all links are useful, the higher the PR of the page linking to you, the *more* useful the link.

if the homepage is PR7, the link page must be pretty deep buried to not have a PR.

ask your linking friend to tell you how to find the links page from the homepage of his site as some unethical webmasters create links pages, send you the URL, but don't link to them from anywhere on their site, so there's no way your link will be found.
