We are just setting up an e-commerce site, and the individual shop pages on our site have the same product description repeated line after line, with only the product size changing in each entry. Each item line is linked to to a remote shopping basket service. I have read that repetition like this will be considered as spam by Google etc and my question is - should I add a NOINDEX tag to these pages?

There's no advantage to having duplicate content like that in Google. Use robots.txt to remove it.
