Hi,

Let me see if I can explain this right. I have the google analyctics set up for my site.

It show's that since November people have been visiting this page with mostly 0:00 average time on site, I was wondering why and clicked on visit this page and it came up with an error. I know my web addres is http://www.website.com this is just an example. But it shows this url: /http://www.website.com/http://www.website.com and a bunch of letters and numbers after that.

I am trying to figure out how are people getting this url. Did I mess up in the html. part of the index? They are also coming through the correct url also, this shows as / for some reason in google analyctics. When I view it, it's the correct home page.

thanks for your help,
Jess

Hi Kessie

the URL seems to be repeated in the hyperlink for some reason and the letters and numbers are just a session ID (I think).

As far as I know google analytics is based on the java scripts.
I'd recommend compete.com for the third party tracking.
But for US visitors only.

As a side issue you can use the .htaccess file to rewrire URLs with session ID so the serach engines get a friendly looking URL.

I used to get round this by refreshing the login page and clearing the address bar.

The leading slash "/" before the http is being "normalised" by user agents and is directing clicks to the site root (as it should).
