Please check out my sitemap, created by Gmaps Sitecrawler.

Google seems to like it, but it's unsightly. What do I do?

xml sitemaps are generally for search engine robots, not humans, so they don't need any special treatment. You could always take the content and place it in a html page, then you could format it the way you want

You mean have a second separate site map for humans? Or make a new sitemap.html for both google and humans?

Hi there

I think it depends on ur site, you could have a sitemap.html with some important areas on there, for your users, but really xml sitemaps are just to help the spiders find ur pages, so they are not worth putting all ur time into. If your sites designed properly the spiders will find ur pages anyway, i just have small site maps for my sites, with the important urls, i do not feel they are as important as some people make out.

A html sitemap would be there for ur users if they get lost.
