I think you're onto something here Newbie that other people haven't been investigating. Pirates use eco-friendly technologies such as the wind and wave power, and kept commercial shipping in check.

EDIT: Are you talking about pirated software/music? If so, forget just about everything I have said here!

There are many modern day pirates. Malaysia, Indonesia and the east coast of Africa are host spots for piracy.

I agree with you the main reason is lack of Pirates and we are the main causers of globle warming .... Government have to take some steps to stop it ...
