Hi,
I have a blog at blogger.com and my all pages are well indexed in google and it is among the top rank pages for different keywords.
My question is that when I put keywords in google search box of my any post my blog appear in results but most of the time only home page appears with recent post and not the particular post or page for which I am searching for by entering relevant keywords for the post while that post has been already indexed.

The homepage appears because it has far more links to it than other posts do, so it generally ranks higher.

So, what to do? It will be not user friendly..I mean if a user want some tips on SEO and entered query "Free Tips To generate traffic and link popularity"
then my blog appears at the top and when user click on that he found not the actual tips he wanted but the other recent post.....while that particular post has been already indexed so it should also appear with hompage in result pages because this post also include more related keywords in itself than homepage or recent post.....

Your supposedly working for an SEO company - can't you figure this out yourself?

HAHAHAHA I missed that post.

coolslko: first of all, rank checking establishes nothing. Why are you wasting your time with such a pointless exercise? Not only that, why would you pick such a long and silly phrase to try to draw traffic from? No one's gonna type all that out.

Second, the effect that you see will last only as long as your post is on your home page. As it moves to page 2 or 3 or 5,912, your post should eventually outperform your summary page (all other things remaining equal.)

Me too - thanks for bringing this to our attention, Whym. The people involved have all been banned.

And then to answer the question: It's because the text is on your home page and on the specific blog post, and because Google learned about your domain name before they found out about your specific page for the post and its comments. If they're going to show one, it will be your home page because it has more internal, Google-only, invisible to the rest of us page rank than a brand-new page. Time probably isn't a direct factor, but all of the links you've accumulated so far help your domain in general, while a new post has only one link, from your home page.

Try this search and you'll see a similar effect with my site.
