ok what i want to do is setup a clone of streetdeeds.com but every developer i have spoken to says that i will need to supply the address data. I have lokked around the internet and have found that the english data would cost be nearly three thousand dollars surely that can't be right i havent even started pricing america data yet! Does anybody here ever needed full address files for a country or know where they got there data from? if so can they suggest where i can get them from and the cheapest options? i still need a developer for this project if anybody is interested?

i thought this would be easy and i have spent most of the day going about in circles

The site you posted looks interesing as I think you can access the data instead of storing it on your server which im told is 4gigabytes just for the english database so probably is 10 x that size for america? i only have 5gb of storage on my server and im already usin 3gb.

I emailed the streetdeeds site for some info but the guy told me to be more innovative instead of trying to jump on his band wagon. The site isnt a pixel site at all but it looks like its making an impact so thought i could have a similar site with a different theme or something? too difficult to clone i think?

Maybe the guy had a point - you're not really adding much to an already complicated world by simply copying the functionality of an existing site. Why not come up with a more original idea of your own and try to develop that.
