Hi guys I have a small website hosted by my ISP.

I need to add a shopping cart that uses Mysql.

MY ISP wants to charge me $100 to install Mysql for me and then to charge $10 a month fro this.

Is this a fair charge ?

Not really , but why do you have a commercial website on free ISP space anyway?

Most ISPs are not geared up to provide anything more than a few meg of space for very basic sites with no server scripting allowed at all.

No! most of the hosts can install it for you at no extra charge.
