Hey there!
I have a problem when running my Wordpress blog on my MAMP server on my MacBook. I just can't figure out where the problem is.
I installed MAMP and started both Apache and MySQL server (green light).
I downloaded all my Wordpress files from my hosts server into the htdocs folder on my hard drive.
I put the right address into the address bar of my browser (http://localhost:8888/AdamPavitt/blog/)
And that is what i get:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.
Can someone give me a hint what the problem is???
Thanks a lot.
Cheers honorfield
