What is "InnoDB Free"

I have just started using InnoDB for my storage engine in MySQL. I now see at the top of my phpMyAdmin screen text that says "InnoDB free: 44032 kB"

What does this mean?

InnoDb is a storage engine used by MySql

free: 44032 Kb, is telling you the amount of storage space available

Storage space where? In the database or in memory?

44032 Kb = 43Mb

Can't be sure because I don't have any InnoDb tables to check against but it's probably the InnoDb datafile free space.
