Yeah I've seen these before. It just wouldn't feel right typing without proper keys. And it might actually be detrimental to touch-typing.
However, if it were implemented on to a phone it would be awesome. You could have your phone lying down on a table, or whatever, with a full-sized keyboard projected on to the table's surface, much easier than typing on a phone. I'd buy that.
