I understand why people are not allowed to delete their threads but I think the user that starts a thread should be able to close it (I have used vbulletin forums before with this option so it's out there). simply because people make posts to issues that have long sence been resolved because they don't check the dates or they do not read all the posts just the initial issue and they want to put their input in and it brings threads back that were resolved a while back.

Just a thought but something I felt worth mentioning.

We feel discussions should always remain open unless there is a reason for them to be closed (ie. flaming). We have warning notices when threads are too old (on quick reply and reply pages) to reduce old thread bumping. But even then, it is not such a big issue.
