Any suggestions for new forums?

Any forums you think should be closed / removed / modified??

I am going to be doing some big changes in the new year. Like an upgrade to vB3 and some other surprises.

I'm probably too new to voice an opinion but everything looks fine from this part of the world

How about a buying/selling forum for things other than advertising/sites/domains. We've had a few posts lately, asking for things like web and image design and I remember one trying to sell a VB license. It would be nice to have somewhere to put all these. 'Buy & Sell Goods and Services' perhaps?

That's not a bad idea David. I think we had something similiar in the past. We would have to set it up in a way to avoid in being a SPAMfest and lose its usefulness.

We could have a 'Buy & Sell Goods and Services' forum but it would probably get filled with ads.

What about a "Freelance Corner" instead where people could post offers looking for services? Posts "offering" services would not be allowed unless it is a reply to a request?

That might reduce the amount of simple ads.

Thoughts?

How about something with video. More and more people have it on thier sites.

That's an interesting idea, the Freelance Talk forum. It should probably be one of those that has a minimum post count before one can post to prevent drive-by spamming. Since we have a hosting forum, should it be closed to hosting offers?

What about a weekly graphics compertition?

I think the "Community Talk" and "Miscellaneous Talk" categories should be combined, and be positioned at the bottom. They're both OT and I'd rather have them all in the same spot then having to scroll to the top for one, and the bottom for the other Or maybe make "Jokes, Fun Stuff & a Little Inspiration" and "New Member Introductions" subforums of "The Water Cooler / Shoot the Breeze". But I'm not a big fan of subforums
