WMT needs a Market Place section where people can buy and sell, offer and request. I want to advertise my site <Admin Edit. You just did> but I cant find a section on WMT that would be appropriate for it, and not dismissed as spam.

Hi Ibanners,

1. We do offer pretty affordable ad rates. See this thread for more info. http://www.webmaster-talk.com/showth...&threadid=3091
2. There are several ways to advertise your site without it being looked at as SPAM.

A. The first place is in your signature. If you simply participate in the forums and make helpful and interesting posts, you will be surprised how many people will take a look at the site in your signature. There are a few very popular forums I know of that don't allow signatures at all.

B. The site review forum. You basically get a free ad in this forum as long as you follow the rules and first review three other members sites (with more than just a 1 or 2 sentence review).

C. I am sometimes more leniant to our long time existing members, but if we see a new member come in here and makes posts with each one being basically an advertisement, it does not look good. It makes us feel you are here for no other reason than traffic extraction. I think it makes our forum more enjoyable for all our members when we don't let new members SPAM away in the forums. When members start giving, sometimes they may be surprised what they GET back.

Anyway, your suggestion is not a bad idea. We will consider it for the future. We have also considered adding a "buy and sell ads" forum where members could buy or sell advertising on their sites.

Can we ad a section to promote your own site? For example a place to sell your ad space? You could restrict it to one post every 7 days.

Yes, I have decided it would be a nice addition to the forums. I might try it for a month and will let it remain as long as the rules are followed and it does not turn into a SPAMfest.

This is the original thread you posted about this idea:
