Maybe this is me, maybe it's a sever problem, but I thought I'd better mention it anyway.

Has anyone found problems with accessing the site over the past week. Seems to load OK about half the time but then suddenly pages start taking a long time (up to a minute or two) to load. Sometimes the page will eventually appear, others I reload and it's OK, others I start getting errors from IE saying page cannot be accessed.

I'm getting awful pings on a tracert so I think it's probably my ISP:

I would like to hear from others as well.

I did browse the site on dialup over the weekend and the load time was a lot slower than I wish it was. On Cable, I never seem to have much of a problem.

This past weekend might have been a little slow, but it's up to speed for me. Cable access here.

I get server timeout errors all the time for WT. It seems to be worst on weekends and in times of high traffic. No real suprise but still annoying.

Anyone got a suggestion of a nice fast server I can ping? (UK pref.)

The site seems fine for me -- Webmaster-Talk hasn't ever been known for its speed.

Seems to be better this morning, pinging 180 to WT and 65 to a UK server so must have just been a temporary problem.

I'll try and see what can be done. It probably does keep members who are not on DSL or Cable from coming by or posting real often.

I didnt think we used used a whole lot of graphics hear. Maybe they just need to be optimized. Or do you think it could be the host? It's not hosted on the TH servers.

I sometimes have problems with accessing the site with speed, but believe part of my problem is also the browser. In a way though living out in the middle of nowhere my baud rate is only 24,000, so guess I am not doing to do bad accessing this site, just learned to be patient.

I don't know if this makes any diffrence ( it does on my computer) but I bought Nortons SystemWorks, and installed it yesterday. I had cleared my history yesterday morning before installing it. It still found over 15,000 urls in my history. So I let it clear them off. Now my internet flys, and so does this site.

Very interesting information Crow, will have to go to Norton's and check that out! I assume it's a separate program from the Anti Virus.

Am testing a new browser but still slow accessing this site.

That is very interesting Crow! There seem to be many URLs on my computer that I can't seem to clear off, no matter how many times I clear history or delete temp Internet files. Maybe Norton Systemworks could help me get rid of those?

Thanks for the advice!

When I installed Nortons SystemWorks it put an updated copy of Nortons Anti Virus on. It has the whole ball of wax I guess.
