No, don't.

But I was curious as to what happens when you do rate a thread - I can't see a "top threads" button anywhere...

Also, I see we've got us a spam-can. Or at least did until I lost it.

Harvey,

I don't know that anyone actually uses the Rate this Thread feature. I know it is part of the forum release, but it's never been something to be focused on (since I have been here).

The SPAM-CAN is something from our past -- post spam and it gets moved there. Now we just delete the threads in such a way that the poster can see that it has been deleted and why.

How would you go about rating a thread when most of them are questions about something or other. Really the only threads you could rate are in the "Community Talk" section of the board.

I don't agree fancymoustache. If there is a question asked that a few people would like the answer to I think it would be worthy of a higher rating. Also, alot of the threads in the SEO forums have been quite helpful and I would think they would get a high rating, etc.

Good answer, Kandi! That's how I rate a thread, by the merits of all the posts contained within it. So, a question with a great answer, or several good answers, may get a good rating.

It has not been done alot here; we used to rate threads back in the day! LoL! It's a function that can be used when wanted.

Good point. But one could only rate a thread once there has been a lot of responses (or just a couple really good responses), right? Also, I don't contribute to the SEO forums, so I don't really know about that.

Thanks Dave!

Fancymoustache - I don't think I've actually contributed to the SEO forums but I have learned a lot from reading the posts in there. I think it's necessary for all webmasters to learn all they can about SEO.

I read most every forum here, but only post answers in a few - html, php, general discussions and occassionally graphics. I'm still learning php & mysql, but I'm at a point where I can answer a question here and there (as long as I didn't type the code - I tend to read what I meant to type, therefore it's harder to find my own errors).
