why is Europe and U.K. separate in the "where in the world" thread?

just out of curiosity

i always thought there were few europeans around ... but it was only after elementary math that i realised we are almost as many europeans as americans (U.S.) around here

I really would have liked to break down the poll into every country possible, to get a really really accurate poll on the countries, but there are only 10 answers allowed.

In my estimation, I figured there would be a lot of the UK and a lot from the rest of Europe. With the biggest separation seemingly being the native languages, and with the abundance of people that I knew from the UK (and not the rest of Europe), I broke the UK from the rest of Europe.

Maybe simplistic, but that's one of the main reasons why it is separated as it is. I've also noticed similar polls at other forums now, and they're basically like this one.
