Can you add a section where people can sell banner ads on there site? People could sell or banner impressions and pop ups.

We can certainly discuss it. Here are a couple of pro's and con's to get the discussion going:

Pros:

• Your site gets a free advertisement.
• Your site is listed for potential advertisers.
• Members can sell space and make some money.

Cons:

• Lots of sites listed selling space, so your site is lost among the multitudes.
• Membership increases because of people wanting a free advertisement, not to get help or help others.
• Spammers list sites with no intention of selling ad space.

Any one care to list more pro's and con's? There would have to be some rules about the usage of such a forum, too. Any suggestions?

Personally I like the idea. I did a post about this a while ago but couldn't really find a place for it.

How about if it was a forum only open to those with more than X posts? Should overcome the spammer problem.

To overcome another con, how about deleting posts more than x days old? Would keep the offers fresh and there could be a re-submission time limit as well.

Probably would end up as quite time consuming to moderate but I think it would work well.

Trade links requests should be made in that forum only of course.

I like the idea of a "Buy and Sell Ad Space" section and putting a limit on who can post.
