After contributing silently since 2002 - one nagging complaint,

The discourtesy, lack of appreciation, and coldness shown when threads are closed

Hello 5urlcom,

praveen was just stating how we don't like to have duplicate content cross forums. It creates confusion, "Didn't I already post in this thread?". It was not meant to be rude, just a simple heads up

As for the "www.webmaster-talk.com now has a PageRank 7" thread, you can see that HyptoniK resurrected the thread after 20 days. Tim was probably trying to prevent someone from bumping the thread to the top of the thread list every month because of a PR update.

And finally, your thread "Tips for Hand Coders - NotePad - Html Pros" was auto-closed by a routine we have in place that automatically closes a thread after 30 days to prevent members bringing up old threads (it's quite annoying when someone brings up a thread 3 years old, for example.). This routine is only enabled on forums with forum ID's of 4, 10, 15, 60, 86 or 88.

I hope that clears up any confusion 5urlcom! Please don't hesitate to comment about anything, we are always looking for ways to improve

One of the major reasons I use webmaster-talk is because of the administrators - - the website is always professionally run and I have yet to see a single instance of flaming....

Actually now that I think of it if the administrators were overbearing we wouldn't even have seen the post - - they could have just deleted it....

Thanks to everyone on this website, both the administrators and people who post for keeping the site informative, helpful and civil.

it was more on these lines and NOT meant to be offensive or rude..

i can only apologise if this has offended you..

i have been here almost from the start,i think, and everyone strives to maintain a good community and remain fair to all..

thinking abt this, in the past, similar threads started by other admins/mods were also gievn the same treatment..so this is nothing personal against u..

hehehehehehe... hope this clears up the issue..

again as tim said, we hope u continue u what you do best.. post informative posts..
