I tried to change my avatar to another one of the general ones available, and it would not change. Is that normal, once we choose we are stuck? So I tried clicking on the "No avatar" option above the icons, just so I could choose a different one later... and I can't uncheck it now...
Uh, is it possible to unckeck it?

I also don't see the spell checker at the bottom of this posting...

Aiaiai, is it just me being paranoid or there's an invisible conspiracy?

Updating: I got it - I just freaked out too quickly.
It worked after I chose "No avatar", then went back and chose another one; the "no" option disappears once you click on the one you want.
As for the spell checker, still don't see it. But it's allright. It will show up when I least expect it, I'm sure.

Hi kali in order to change your avatar you have to buy that option in the WT store.

Also in order to see the spell cheecker you must use the post "new thread" or "post reply" button and you will see the spell checker button in there.

Thankyou

hey Chopper

But I did use the New Thread button - that's how I got the post started. Maybe only in the "Post Reply"? Cause I see one now...

As for the avatar, there are general ones that I could use right away. The instructions say that I would have to buy a "custom" one.

Anyway, I choose one with a little mean kick to it.
Thanks for replying.

Is that avatar you, Kali? Little mean with a kick to it? LoL! J/k!

I did check and the Spell Checker is not available when starting a new thread, but it is available when starting a new post.

Should it be available when starting a new thread, too?

It doesn't matter that much to me but, for the sake of uniformity, maybe yes... If it's not too hard...why not, eh?

Hi Chopper,

Is there any way that we can allow avatars only after a user buys the feature from the store? I think that allowing users to choose their avatar as they register takes the fun out of that feature.

Conker,

I beg to differ, but of course I have no saying unless we take a poll. Newbies already have a very limited list of avatars available, and I thought that would be the incentive - to be able to get our "customized" avatars only when we have "money" to do so.

But in the big scheme of things, I would not make a fuss out of not being allowed to have one at all. It's just not that important.

If my not having one is going to make it fun for you...hey, why not?

I'm really glad we got Chopper to figure out all the hard stuff!

Maybe the thing is to keep a smaller number of avatars for free, and have a large selection, or custom ones for purchase from the store.

Of course, we'll have to remove the one that Kali selected just so we can keep her posting! Just kidding!

But, Dave, this is how it currently is, is it not? I think Conker is suggesting none, until we get some casharoo.

As for my choice of avatar, I must admit, for someone with no money, that was a treat. But it was amongst the freebies...

That's how it is! But I meant that we could make the selection very small, like 6 or 8, so that many will have the same avatar until they build up enough for a store bought one (instead of a hand me down).

Other thoughts?

Hi Dave,

That is a great idea!

(...much better than mine at least -- I think I'm a bit fascist )
