the graphic design ones are awesome, I would like to see some .swfs entering the rounds.

Some flash design contests would be interesting... though recently I've been thinking that a whole new category devoted to flash aspects (coding and design) would be even better.

So... who seconds the motion?

Is it even possible for any of the admins/mods active to create a new category?

We HAD a Flash area once, it got very little use so we eliminated it. It was dead most of the time.

If somebody wants to post a contest for a flash design then there is absolutely nothing to stop them. BUT they had better be prepared to put up a lot more than $20 to $100 for the prize offering.

EDIT: after thinking about it. I'm beginning to think that might be a bad idea, simply for the fact that so much time goes into making something like this. And in the cases where people take the time to create images in the graphic design forums, there is really no guarantee (all the time) that the person who started the contest is even going to stick around to pay for the winner's efforts.

Whenever something like that happens in the graphic design forums, I feel like everyone who even helped gets undermined.

And with a flash design contest forum, just magnify that by 10 or 100

Webmaster-Talk.com would, itself, have to act as an escrow service between the contest holder and the contest winner, and that's perhaps (I would guess) not in the cards of you guys for some time. (and I do not blame you)
