i noticed the mods earlier made a little hack which you cant make new threads here unless you have 900 posts. I think you should raise it a little since i already can make new threads here.
even though im not going to, still...people seem to be catching up, this is a growing forum. in a good way.

I don't see why you would want to raise it, there are only 3 people over 900 posts

Actually, the Announcements forum is for the admin team to make announcements about WT, not for announcements made by the general membership. However, any member could make a reply to the announcement.
I originally put the 900 post requirement on there so we wouldn't have to keep moving new threads like this one.
There is another option, and that's to lock the forum to new threads similar to the Referral Mania forum. That's probably the best way to do it so we don't have to keep moving up the post count.
The only problem is that it looks like it's locked to where members can't respond, even though that's not the case. But that might be the best thing to do.
Hmm.....
So since ghetto knew this wasn't supposed to be here, and it's all explained now, this is getting moved to the suggestion forum.

Hi Dave,
I'm very surprised that by default, vB does not offer the feature to allow users to reply but not add topics. If there isn't a hack for this, I should be even more surprised. I think the developers of vB should take care of this problem ASAP.
So who has a vB license here and can use the support forums over at vB?

vb does offer this by default
you just have to change the permissions on the forum so that admins may start threads and members cannot - but allow members to reply

Hi fonz,
Hmm...if this is possible, then I don't quite understand what Dave is saying.

hehe sorry, just thought id inform you, you really didnt have to lock it anyways, its not like im going to post there. and the other closest member to 900, drache, i dont think she will post there either.
So you can have it for like 3 more months with the 900 limit.
about VB not having a feature like this, maybe if you email them and give them the suggestion they will come up with a hack for it. Its worth a try

Well, it is fixed so that we don't have to move more threads. Actually, the lock is the "preferred" way of no new threads, but I like the "number of posts" hack that Chopper installed better.

Its here.
All of the reffering sites and countrys have restarted from scatch because it was lost when the site got messed up.
BTW: Dont rely on these stats 100% because they are not always correct.
Cheers
