I think that a forum where webmasters can help webmasters would be in good order. I'd be a place for requests with nothing in exchange. Simple ones like how can I do this. Can you take a look ar this code and tell me what's wrong? or where hould I insert this code. maybe even what's in a good logo. can you help me make one?

Just my $0.02

yes, but in the requests forum, you must offer something in return.

the requests forum is for requests with things in exchange. the other forums, you could say "I'm looking for something like this...can anyone help me out?" and see what response you get. the response obviously won't be as active as it would be with something in return, but speaking from personal expierience i've had many problems solved for free in these forums.

use the forums as they are intended and you will get many things for free. pool the knowledge that exists here. if we created a forum specifically for "free requests," then no one would visit it because it would be of no benefit to THEM, but only to other people. the forums we have at present are a benefit to both those seeking knowledge and those who possess it.

The type of answer will also depend upon the request.

For example:
  • A request for a new logo, should have some kind of reciprocation.
  • A request for suggestions on a existing logo should be free.
I suggest that if you ask a question and don't get an answer after several days, then bump your post with a reply asking if there is someone that can help.

have to agree with DMo224

using his example with php programming

a tip where the error could be would probably be done for free but asking for a site specific script should require a fee of some sort due to the time taken to do such a thing

at the end of the day a lot of it comes down to time
