Hi,

Considering services are paying to have their advertising displayed in the Special Ads forum, I think it is a bit unfair that their ads are only shown at the bottom. I think that forum should be moved to this "Community" section and that this Suggestions forum should be moved to the bottom. This will help give more exposure to the forum and to the ads, which in turn will result in more people willing to pay for ads in that forum. What do you guys think of this?

The plan is to discontinue the Special Advertisements forum. See the Update here. Advertisements may be handled in a couple of different ways, from banner ads to sponsorships.

Since this is the place for suggestions, do you think that this forum should be continued, but moved higher on the main forums page? Anybody?

You have a good point Conker.

However as Dave said, I had planned on closing that forum for the time being. As soon as the ads run their course, the forum will be removed.

I think it is a much better value to our advertisers to be able to offer them text link ads in a targetted forum of their choice.

Who knows, maybe the ads forum will eventually reopen but for now, it will be closed.
