Hi everyone,

I am sure everyone out here has some good experience with any particular website or tools; I’m posting here to share how I’m using twitter and other sources of traffic generation and I am sure to receive good ideas from you guys.

Basically I’m new to this SEO, I got a new blog about selling / buying & I am trying to promote it single handedly. While my searching I came to know that everyone was talking about increasing twitter followers to get good traffic towards site, so I started doing same and in couple of months I got 6k twitter followers but I don’t know why, I didn’t work for me. I was getting only 2-5 visits on daily basis through my 6k followers!! This was horrible.

Then it came in to my mind that I should be more specific while twitting, mean I have to mention other people in my tweets to attract them but it required lots of efforts and time so I use tools like iMacro/Kapow to automate all it. Twitter has its own limitations like max daily and hourly postings, so I made by bots bit more complicated; now I tweet around 1500 through 3 of my twitter accounts, every tweet has 3-6 mentions, so I’m tweeting 20k+ monthly and approaching 80k+ people. As it is fully automated, I only have to keep an eye every half hour to check if everything is working fine, the good thing with this technique is that I’m getting 40-150 visitors daily and tracking via analytics is working fine.

I wonder if someone out here can convince me if having more twitter follower’s really necessary. I don’t think it is at all. Because only one of my accounts has 6k followers and rest have couple of hundred followers. I would also appreciate if someone provide me other tricks/tips of working with twitter for more productivity.

First question is how did you get the Twitter followers? Did you sign up for something that guarantees you a certain amount of followers? 2-5 visits a day really is a low conversion rate considering you reached out to 6,000!

Also, why the SEO mention at all???

Tweeting I hope you mean...

So now you spammed 80k users who probably aren't interested in your service or product... how many conversions from the 40-150 vistiors did you get?

I have an account with 19 followers (probably 20 now, haven't checked.) I've received more hits, quality too, with under 100 tweets....

Manual, targeted tweets and followers is really the best way to go. There is no "tweet" product in my opinion that is truly effective.

Don’t use twitter as a way to talk and talk about yourself. Talk about anything under the sun that would interest your target audience, posting pictures, using creative hashtags, and many other tricks to interest customers.

I went out and got a heap of followers 10k on one account 15k, 28k and 30k. As I spent the time there working on traffic I noticed the same thing. you don't need all the followers. I have it set up so it post about 15 tweets a day and use trending topics in my niche. It works and gets traffic. Just mention people and post #tags you'll get results as long as your consistent

I once tried using twitter for campaigning a site, I think its a good way. Twitter have a lot of subscribers so the possibility that someone will see your tweet that contains your campaigned site will increase.

Bringing a bit of sense to the thread.

You might get a few visitors, but I bet your bounce rate for the landing page is silly.

People hate spammers. If you actually bother to produce decent content, interact with people, generate a buzz and build a community, people are MUCH more likely to help you out.

It's a two way street.

As soon as I get a spammy tweet I ALWAYS block and report the user. I would encourage everyone else to do the same.

Twitter is good for the marketing. It is a micro blogging site which helps us to inform us our visitors or followers about our new product and good way to talk with them about our products shortcomings and good things.

Twitter is pretty easy to use for marketing. Most companies realize that they can simply just post a link in a tweet and it can garner traffic like crazy.

Yeah I am fully agreed with it that twitter is good for traffic but I think it depends on your profile Like how many users follows you.

6000 followers! I am not sure but I have to ask "Are they real followers"? Or you bought some so called service which provides 1K followers for a small amount? If you have 6000 real followers and you tweet regularly then I am wondering why are you getting only 4-6 hits daily?

By the way, I love Facebook and I have linked my twitter account with Facebook, I don't bother to check my twitter account these days. Facebook, Twitter traffics are referral traffics. At this stage, I am concentrating on organic traffics.

I strongly recommend you to post and interact with your followers like they were your friends. It doesnt matter if you have 100 gazillions of followers if they are not interested in your site or what you have to say. This is a long term commitment that will take years to establish. There are nothing like a quickfix for getting long term hit traffic (if your name isnt Donald Trump and you live in Trump tower and get your ads on every American newschannel of course)
