Brothers,
I need experts’ help here. Recently (6th June) I launched my first website(NameStall.com). I took a lot of care and it took 4 months to finish the website and submitted my website to 4 forums for review. In one forum a guy with 500+ forum posts PMed me and told

“Your content is unique but your internal linking will kill your SEO. Google doesn’t like this kind of internal links.”

Then I send him 4 PMs and asked - him what was wrong and what my mistakes were - but never got any reply from that guy.

Guys I am really very scared now. This guy has more than 500 forum posts, so he must know something I don’t.

This is my first website and I spent 4 month to develop all the tools and just launched it.

Please please please brother help me out here. what did I wrong with my internal linking? Or what is the safest or best practice to build your internal linking. Or who do you link your website pages?

Please help me out here guys.

There are lots of clueless people who post prolifically. It is the QUALITY of the posts that counts, NOT the quantity.

And having looked at your source that person definitely falls into the "clueless but prolific" category.

How would visitors and bots find their way around the URLs if there were no internal links?

The only possible problem I can see is that the majority of your documents offer nothing of any real value to search engine users, so maybe crawled and indexed but probably will not stay in the index for any length of time.
It is not a major problem by any stretch, simply because you are not showing Adsense on those pages, which is what would cause problems.

I have over 500 posts... the guy above me has over 40k posts... ???

Just ask yourself... why would internal links hurt your optimization? Do you care about your users, or search engines more??

Internal links? Those are important. They are links on your site that points to pages that are on your site. Of course, you do not want anybody to look a page on your site and then open to other sites because you dont have links to your other pages.

A quick look at your site reveals a site that people will want to use....IMO

Information is the net......

Get the URL in front of as many people as possible and let the site do the work...
Again just my opinion....)

I wouldn't worry about what some clueless clown told you on some spammed up forum.

I agree that your website is pretty useful. I would take a couple mins and create a new logo though IMO that more accurately describes the website. Apart from that good job, now on to the next one

Guys sorry for my late reply…actually I asked the same question in 3 different forums and understood I actually did bad and way too much internal links…moreover I used same anchor text over and over for my internal links…

Somewhere one forum member wrote – google said “"The number of internal links pointing to a page is a signal to search engines about the relative importance of that page. If an important page does not appear in this list, or if a less important page has a relatively large number of internal links, you should consider reviewing your internal link structure."

And I think I really made a big mistake with my internal links….So I reorganized my internal links and reduced 4-5 links/page….and tired to use different anchor text rather than just one…

I hope this time I did it better and personally feeling good with my internal links now….

Actually I m relatively new to Website or Web Development…and when got that PM from that guy I was really panicked…I really tried to develop a good and useful website but just becoz of some internal links I could get screwed…so immediately I asked help from forums and honestly I am so grateful to all the forums’ people who came out to guide/help me….

500+ post was a big thing for me at that moment….but when i told it to forums I understood 500+ posts actually is not a big issue….

Anyway brothers, I really thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help, time and care…
Regards….

I think people are liking my site…my website bounce rate is 30% and avg time is 9 minutes….and I guess this not bad for a new website like mine…

I have no idea how to bring it in front of people…I just asked few forums to review my site…

Haven’t started doing any back links and I have some doubt and questions with back link building also….need to clear those doubts before I start doing/building my back links…..

Till now I submitted my site to 10 directories and unfortunately only 2 of them accepted my site others denied….don’t know why?....i opened facebook fan page, twetter account, google+ and few other social book markings…submitted 2 articles to goarticles and eziarticls…and that’s it….

I m still not sure how and where to start my back links….or how to bring my website in from of people….

I would be really grateful to you if you can help me or guide me in this case….

Regards and waiting for your kind reply…

Google recommends that a page on your website should not exceed 100 links. However if you focus on building your website for your visitors and not search engines you will see that it does not really matter. At one point I was in charge of managing an e-commerce site that had around 300 links per page due to the exploded navigation and I had absolutely no trouble ranking the website for any terms because of my link count.

In terms of anchor text, this might be the problem he was referring to. You do not want to design multiple pages where your internal linking strategy uses the same or similar anchor text to link to each page. The reason why is when you go to rank both of these pages for a keyword, Google will use these internal links to decipher what the subject of the page is so by having similar anchor texts Google will essentially make each page compete against one another.

TEN YEARS AGO Google USED TO recommend no more than 100 links on a page, but that was when they only indexed 101Kb of a document and they have removed the "no more than 100 links" from the "guidelines" and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6g5hoBYlf0

And as you say

Which is absolutely 100% the the way everyone should be looking at site development.
