I wonder why it is they say "thank you" to the clueless clowns who get it wrong while simultaneously ignoring the factual posts.
Oh well as a famous philosopher once said, "stupid is as stupid does"

But, it depends on the chosen keyword (needs keyword research) and also the competition.

Whoa, all that technical jargon is making my head spin! </sarcasm>
"Special code"? This is a webmaster forum, not Sesame Street.
Perhaps before posting garbage advice (dofollow doesn't exist, by the way) to get your sig links out there, perhaps you should know that on this forum they are automatically made nofollow (which actually does exist). So you're wasting your time here.

Sigh. Websites don't get page rank, web pages do, and what you see as page rank is of little value in gauging its "importance". So "dofollow", which doesn't exist, does much for increasing something of no value? Bravo.

Strictly speaking it isn't even "pages" that get assigned with PR, real or the imaginary SGB kind, but the URL the document can be found at. Which is why various methods can be used to avoid duplication of content at different URIs.

After mentally removing all the useless posts in this 4 page thread, it becomes 1 page...now that's better (mentally).

The No-Follow Links Argument
On the flip side of the coin, some people believe that no follow links actually do provide some form of link benefit. Over and above this, they can provide great referral traffic from people clicking through your links. An excellent example of useful no follow links are blog comment links. The vast majority of blogs are no follow these days, which was put in place to discourage comment spam.

I quoted the true parts of your posts, almost correct in most areas wherever you copied this from... you still deserve a ban for copy/pasting then posting garbage in the other dofollow thread though.
