No such thing as "dofollow" and there is no guarantee the links without a rel="nofollow" attribute will be counted.

Hi..

Dofollow and Nofollow are two important factors among many SEO Ranking Factors that influence the ranking of a particular blog/site in search engines. Let’s see some areas where these dofollow and nofollow tags/links are highly applicable.

Overal, dofollow is obviously the best type of backlink because it passes link juice from one site to another and counts the anchor text for keyword relevance, but, do not discount the nofollow completely!

SeoQuake is a very good plugin to check whether the link is dofollow or nofollow. This plugin is applicable for Chrome.

This plugin better explain you to differentiate dofollow and nofollow links..

Thanks & Regards
Meryl Goney

Hi!

Rubbish, rubbish and for more variety, more rubbish. Kindly read the rest of a thread before piling more insipid drivel upon it.

Regards,

Do follow websites are useful to get good impact in the ranking and page rank of the website.
No follow website might be useful to increased ranking of the website.

Do follow links are the commands to search engine robots to follow that link for spiders crawling process.
No follow links are also the command for search engine crawlers; it can say Do not follow this specific link from linking page.

WRONG on two points
1: do follow does NOT exist.
2: There are NO "commands" to instruct that SE crawlers MUST "follow a link"

WRONG again rel="nofollow" instructs that the link is untrusted and no value should be passed to the target

Links with rel="nofollow" ARE used for crawling and "URL discovery".

I don't see that as true at all. Just because rel="nofollow" is added, it doesn't mean it's untrusted! Maybe I just want all my links to have the nofollow attribute?

The rel="nofollow" attribute was specifically developed for blog operators to indicate the link was NOT "trusted" or "Not vouched for"

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/...ment-spam.html
Quote:
From now on, when Google sees the attribute (rel="nofollow") on hyperlinks, those links won't get any credit when we rank websites in our search results. This isn't a negative vote for the site where the comment was posted; it's just a way to make sure that spammers get no benefit from abusing public areas like blog comments, trackbacks, and referrer lists.

I see it as they said it; not credited. I don't believe untrustworthy, I've used nofollow attribute on a site I trusted, just didn't see the point in giving it credit to the context I used in it...
