ive heard about pr and i want to know what it stands for. is it like personal rank or something because i think its about sites

It stands for Page Rank, it is a number from 0 to 10 which tells you how "popular" the site is, it is determined by incoming links to a site so the more people who link to your site, the higher your page rank.

Ultimately it is a pointless attribute to use with SEO but most of the n00bs on this forum fail to see it.

Page Rank
Press Release
Pro Rodding etc...

Jamie is wrong, though. The scale on the public toolbar goes from not assigned to 0 to 1 all the way up to 10.

In a very artificial meaning of "popularity" maybe. It sure as hell doesn't determine the traffic of your site, or how many people buy things from you or click your ads.

Why are you asking of page rank? I think that it is not to important as SERP ranking. You have to decide what you need more SERP or PR. These things are different.

Yet again, someone is repeating something that has already been established. Learning Newbie has said twice that it is from N/A to 0 to 10, not just 1 to 10. Please stop repeating the same information over and over again, particularly if it is wrong

But I also agree that PR does nothing for your Serp Position, but those pr links do help in the fact that they are a high pr because they have a large amount of power which is now being pushed to your webpage because it carrys over.

ya... and PR is updated once in almost one century and all that... I think someone should close this conversation NOW... believe me guys PR dosen't deserve so much... its the ****tiest of all google gimmicks...

That seems to be missing the point - if everyone realised that PageRank was fairly worthless, then sites with high PR wouldn't necessarily be worth more than ones with low PR - instead, people would go on the quality of content and the number of quality visitors
