I read the thread about PR and link swap... Q is, I know site strength is important regardless of PR. But are there any tools that quantitatively give idea about a site's strength. The good thing about PRs is that it is quantitative... but probably not comprehensive. Do you guys know any tools that judge web site strength? [Free ones only plz ]

I'm not sure about the value of any such tool. Do you mean strength from your subjective point of view or a search engine's POV? I guess you mean a SE's POV, in which case how can we know how they measure 'strength'? Also, a numerical value of strength tells you nothing about context - which is very important i.e. a page might be particularly 'strong' in the context of someone searching for "hydrponics" but might be weak in the context of someone searching for "funny plants".

I'd focus on more important things (i.e. anything else).

I think this will give you a better idea of the data you're looking for, though I'd tend to agree that there's probably better things to spend your time on.

As per the description on the above website, it "quickly assess a site/page's relative importance and visibility".

I think this is one of the better "link value" tools I've come across, but I don't use them myself.

First of all, there are no good tools. Most, if not all of them, violate search engine ToSes; and none of them will ever replace good old-fashioned hard work and building for users. That is page strength, nothing else.

Second, you're looking for a quantitative measure for a qualitative property. You won't really find that. It's not a bad thought...but there's nothing that will accurately measure strength. And all the time you spend worrying about issues like that is time you could spend working on your site from a user standpoint (since there is a very distnct overlap between usability and SEO).
