Hi,

I am buying some new script to renew some of my sites.
Most of my site are PR3 and have backlinks and indexed pages.

How do I install the new script but still keep all my current PR, indexed page, etc.

Fyi, actually,I am referring to my Arcadesites,,,, I am using new arcade script on my current arcade sites.

Am I OK?

Thanks

Only altering the on-page information will not detract from your PR. If you have built up many backlinks and have age on your domain you should be O.K.

Let me make sure that I understand what you are saying. You are taking sites you own that are currently arcade sites and just updating some scripting?

Will the new scripting alter the current URLs except the home page?

NOT update script....... CHANGE to a new script...........

The script is totally different from the old one........ so only the mysite.com/index.php will the same,........ all other subpages will be different..........ie. all are new page name.......

The problem is, if I change the /index.php then all the old pages will not be accessable..........

thanks for your help in advance.......

I would say that you should make sure that you don't have any orphaned pages. What I mean is if they are static html pages you need to remove the old pages from your server.

The most important question is: Does the new script make the users experience better?

If it does than it is always the better decision because if people enjoy the new software it will begin gaining backlinks even quicker

If your home page has let's say a PR3 normally your second level pages will be given a pr2 if they are indexed now, have age, and SE friendly URLs.

Your new pages will start with a PR of 0 but the home page. Google webmaster tools now gives you the option to remove old content from it's indexing and you can quicly help get the new content added by using an XML sitemap on google and yahoo.

thanks

I am thinking this trick...

I creat a new directory, say called /newgames

I install the new script under the /newgames directory

And then I redirect the /index.html to /newgames/index.php

Since my old script doesn't user index.html, so my idea is that, any new users comes to my website, they will re-direct to my new script and the current users still can use the old script.

do you think it works?
