Hello,

I did a search for a keyword phrase I'm trying to optimize for and noticed that the people who are ranked higher than me are all using unethical tactics, namely keyword text that is the same color as background text and keyword text hidden with css.

I don't normally want to snitch, but this could be affecting my business, so is there any way I can have google check out their site again and look for these things?

My other Idea was to tell them that it is unethical and warn them that they could be caught and encourage them to be ethical and have some friendly competition. Seeing as I am their competition, I don't know if they'll listen.

What should I do?

Thanks

I wouldn't bother warning the webmasters for two reasons 1) they already know it's bad and 2) they don't deserve to be warned, They are spammers.

You can report a site to google here

st0x gave you a great resource, carterdea....but if you want to speed it up, use a Google account to report it, as in one you've signed into Google Groups or some other Google service with.

The reason this tends to work a little faster, at least in my experience, is that Google knows who you are and will be able to figure out if you're legitimate or not. So report it that way...even if you are a competitor.

Alternatively, you can post the query, your site, and the sites that are pulling the sneaky trick and we can all pitch in and help out.
