Hi,
I have a website and have added title & meta description in this, but in google SERPS description is not showing, instead it is showing the text from footer in home page.

I have optimized so many websites but never facing this type of problem.

Let me suggest where I am wrong, or what should I do to show the description in google SERPS.

Google chooses the best phrase to be "snippeted" or displayed in the SERP texts

This is happening on some of my pages, too; I'm not sure why. 90 % of them show the meta description, but a few show random snippets.

When did you change the meta tags, and when was the page last cached?

Google uses several sources for what they display as a snippet under your link in search results. They use your meta description, snippets of text from your page, or your description from your DMOZ listing if you have one.

They display the one they think is best for the given query. The generally want to show some of the words from the query so if your meta description isn't using the same words from the query they'll probably show something else. If your meta description matches well with the query it will probably show.

It's not automatic that your meta description will be used.
