Hi All,

I'm quite new to this and I was wondering if you could recommend software to me that will best track geographically where my hits are coming from. I am using something the company hosting my site provides and ~50% of my hits the location is unable to be determined.
I am trying to concentrate my marketing effort on certain countries and the intelligence on whether my marketing is effective would be useful.

Regards

Free. But if you use PPC avoid using this tool. Google Analytics

Another Free Tool Extreme Tracking

Bunch of paid software are there, for example Click Tracks

Thanks for that,

I'm willing to pay if it's good but I don't really want to pay for rubbish while I'm getting rubbish for free!

Could be Webalizer too. That thing's a complete piece of ... ummm ... look in your toilet between number 2 creation and flush and you'll see Webalizer.

ozziedave: do your stats look like this (Webalizer)?

Or this (AWStats)?

No it's not as detailed as either of them.

And not the same look. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something they've tailor made.

All those that have been recommended look to be an improvement

Thanks

To avoid any confusion: I was NOT, repeat NOT, a third time NOT recommending Webalizer. I was just trying to figure out which stats package ozziedave was talking about.

My recommendation ... well, I really don't have one since most site stats packages are a joke, but for a free one AWStats is okay. I'm going to guinea pig SmarterStats in a week or so, though, so I may change my mind.

Just to finish this post I decided to use Google Analytics for 2 reasons 1. It was easy to setup and 2. It was free. The results seem to be good and I'm trying to work out what's usable and what's not.

Thanks for your time helping me out
